I have a ton of SpaRitual colors to show you but before that, let me tell you how this great brand found its way to the Philippines.
Founded by Shel Pink in the US in 2004, SpaRitual is a vegan and eco-conscious spa brand. They do not test on animals and they do not use animal by-products (they use mica in their shimmer polish instead of fish scales). SpaRitual’s nail lacquers are free of DBP, toluene, formaldehyde and formaldehyde resin.
Shelly Lazaro, president of Cytherea Global Cosmetics, which distributes Skin Doctors, Luminess Air, Lashem and Bald Guyz here in the Philippines, said she was okay with “just having clean nails” until she discovered SpaRitual. “I got really fixated with its over 100 beautiful shades of nail lacquers that are certified organic and 100% vegan. I first met the SpaRitual team in Miami during one of the exclusive beauty shows I attended. It was love at first sight.”
Just a couple of days later, Shelly found herself touring the SpaRitual plant and head office with Shel Pink. “Her vision is truly inspiring,” Shelly said. “That sealed the deal.”
Shelly became SpaRitual’s official Philippine distributor in June 2010. She and SpaRitual founder Shel Pink have more than just their names in common. “Shel and I share the same philosophy – selling with integrity.”
Shelly loves SpaRitual for many reasons. “It’s amazing how it’s able to combine eco-consciousness with modern beauty. For instance, the design of the nail polish and lotion bottles is courtesy of the Ferrari car designers themselves and are crafted in Italy from reusable glass with up to 50% recycled materials.” Shelly’s favorite SpaRitual products include the nail lacquers, nail polish remover and Sole Mate (SpaRitual’s moisturizing foot lotion).

Which SpaRitual products would you recommend first-timers to try?
The lacquers! The longer you wear them, the healthier your nails become. They’re like vitamins.

Shelly gave me the chance to try a number of SpaRitual’s colors.
I did a massive swatchfest and walked away in love with the brand.
I’ll show you why.
I love SpaRitual’s bottles.
I love the rubber caps too – they make opening the bottles easy.
And the ridges give you a good grip as you’re applying polish.
And now onto the colors.
Shelly sent me a good mix of lacquers – different finishes and different colors from different collections.
This is Disco Inferno.
It’s a pink-based purple shimmer that’s super pretty.
The formula was smooth and easy to apply.
I used two coats.
This is Mind.
It’s a pretty nude shimmery matte.
It doesn’t dry completely flat – the finish is nice and satiny. I used three coats for this one but two would have worked too.
This is Clear over Mind.
Clear Mind. Cool.
This is Body.
Body is a matte black.
Like Mind, it’s not a flat matte – the finish is like satin too.
This is I Am The Light.
I Am The Light is a cool lilac from SpaRitual’s Believe Collection (Spring 2010) which is possibly my all-time favorite SpaRitual collection. It’s a bit more pink than these photos show.
The formula was great. This was opaque in two coats.
This is Yes I Can, also from the Believe Collection.
I’ve been wanting this color ever since I saw photos of it online so you can imagine how excited I was to finally have it in front of me.
And it’s not just because of the adorable little charm.
Yes I Can is a beautiful grassy green cream.
I have a ton of greens in my collection but this is a standout.
The color, the formula, the name – I love everything about this lacquer.
This was two coats.
This is Hope Springs Eternal, another color from the Believe Collection.
I usually stay away from frosts so it’s strange how much I like this frosted candy pink. I do like it – I really do.
The formula was a little thick – but it’s nothing a little Restore can’t fix.
Revere, from SpaRitual’s Cherish Collection (Spring 2009), was such a revelation.
It’s a gorgeous orange with gold shimmer.
I love it so much. With Dior Aloha and SpaRitual Revere, I’ve been having a great orange streak.
I used three coats for this one.
This is Hunk Of Burnin’ Love, from the Shades of Love Holiday Duo.
It’s a fantastic bright red.
I’m not kidding – it’s the perfect red cream.
I used two coats.
This is Kiss The Cook, the other color in the Shades of Love Duo.
After the awesomeness of Hunk of Burnin’ Love, I didn’t think Kiss The Cook could compete. But I was wrong.
Kiss The Cook is a super glossy, sexy blood red that goes opaque in two smooth and easy coats.
I loved it so much I wore it as a full mani when my swatchfest was over.
And now, Reflection.
If you told me I’d one day pick gold as my favorite out of a group of nail colors, I wouldn’t have believed you. You see – I’ve never found a gold polish that looked good on me before. But the search is over.
This is Reflection, a gorgeous gold with silver shimmer.
This was two coats.
Love love love.
